LOBIYA(BLACK EYE BEANS) 2 CUPS
ONION(CHOPPED) 1
TOMATO(CHOPPED) 1
GINGER-GARLIC PASTE 2 TSP
CUMIN SEEDS ½ TSP
RED CHILLI POWDER ½ TSP
CORIANDER POWDER 11/2 TSP
TURMERIC ½ TSP
OIL 2 TSP
SALT TO TASTE

METHOD:

  1. Soak beans overnight in water.
  2. Next day,drain beans and bring them to boil.
  3. Add salt,coriander,cumin,red chilli and turmeric.Simmer about 40-45 mins until beans are just tender.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan.
  5. Add cumin seeds ,onion and ginger-garlic paste.
  6. Fry for 3 mins and add tomatoes.
  7. Cook for another 5 mins and add lobiya along with cooking liquid.
  8. Continue to cook on a low flame,uncovered,till lobiya are completely dissolved.
  9. Cook for 10 mins.
  10. Serve with bread or rice.
