Sprouted Chana Usal

RED CHANA(SOAKED FOR ONE NIGHT,DRAINED AND WRAPPED IN A MUSLIN CLOTH TILL

WELL SPROUTED)

2 CUP
CASHEWNUTS(SOAKED IN WATER FOR 2 HOURS) 2 CUP
GREEN CHILLIES(CHOPPED) 4-6
CURRY LEAVES 6-7
MUSTARD SEEDS ½ TSP
GRATED COCONUT 1 CUP
ASAFOETIDA ¼ TSP
TURMERIC POWDER ½ TSP
CUMIN SEEDS ½ TSP
OIL 3 TSP
CORIANDER LEAVES(CHOPPED) 3 TSP
SALT AND SUGAR TO TASTE

METHOD:

  1. Pressure cook sprouted chana till soft but whole.Boil cashew- nuts till soft.
  2. Heat oil in a pan.Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
  3. Add asafetida.curry leaves,green chillies and turmeric powder.Stir fry.
  4. Add chana,cashewnuts and a little water.Add salt and a pinch of sugar to give sweet touch.
  5. Mix well and cook for 8-10 mins.
  6. Garnish with grated coconut and chopped coriander leaves.
