TOMATOES(FINELY CHOPPED) 4 LARGE
RED GRAM DAL 3-4 TSP
GINGER GARLIC PASTE 1 TSP
GREEN CHILLIES(FINELY CHOPPED) 1-2
MUSTARD SEEDS 1 TSP
CUMIN SEEDS 1 TSP
TURMERIC POWDER ½ TSP
WHOLE DRIES RED CHILLIES 1-2
ASAFOETIDA A PINCH
CURRY LEAVES 5-6
RED CHILLI POWDER ½ TSP
WATER 21/2 CUPS
SALT TO TASTE

METHOD:

  1. Pick,wash and pressure cook the dal and keep aside.
  2. Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan and add mustard seeds,cumin seeds, curry leaves,dried chilli and asafoetida.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste,gren chillies and tomatoes.
  4. Add salt,chilli and turmeric powder and a cup of water.
  5. Simmer for 5-6 mins and add the cooked dal and 11/2 cup of water and bring to boil.
  6. Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
